This is a Great Fund Raiser For Cancer Research!
Tickets available at the door are $40, or $30 on the web site (www.rideforjim.org) in advance. All proceeds go to support research at the Massey Cancer Center!
The "Ride for Jim" is a cross-country bicycle ride undertaken by friends of Jim Popp. Jim was a medical student at MCV and worked at the VCU Massey Cancer Center. He passed away due to cancer in August of 2007. The annual ride is a fund raiser/awareness event benefiting the James D. Popp Student Research Fund at Massey Cancer Center. The Greater Richmond Pipes & Drums has been asked to play for the party celebrating the return of the Trans-America riders to Richmond.
This Richmond event, called the Richmond Rider Rally, is an annual block party held in Westover Hills. Good family event. The band performed last year and had a great time.
The block party starts at 5:00pm, and the parade (one block) kicks off at 6:30.
There is beer, wine, and food as well as other entertainment throughout the evening!
